Mary Winter is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She has counseled at Denton County Friends of the Family for three and a half years.

Mary specializes in working with clients dealing with sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, family violence, bulimia, depression, relationship and family issues, and women’s issues. She has several years of experience doing group therapy in the areas of sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and bulimia.

Mary’s belief is that God treasures each individual, and that He has a plan and purpose for every person. She has repeatedly witnessed the resiliency of the human spirit as people lean on and trust in the Lord during times of great pain and despair. She desires to help each person seek out God’s path for his or her life, and in helping them follow that path to healing and renewal.

Mary and her husband Bruce have two adult sons. They are active in Bible studies and ministries through their church. Mary enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with friends.
