Steve Barns has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1990, and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 1992.   He is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, American Association of Christian Counselors, Christian Counselors of Texas and the Texas Counseling Association.    He is also an accredited supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselor Interns. 

He received his B.A. in Religion from Baylor University in 1979 and his masters degree from the University of North Texas in 1982.

Before opening this clinic he worked at the Minirth-Meier Clinic in McKinney and Richardson, Texas.  Prior to that he served as the director of the family program at the Westgate Alcohol Recovery Unit in Denton. 

He and his wife, Kathryn,  have been married since 1982 and have four children.  Steve enjoys tennis, camping, and reading.
